In fact, when your customer lists includes names that resemble the red carpet parade list at the Academy Awards, being the best in the game is a requirement just to be allowed to play. And Van Buren's company, Consolidated Overhead Door and Gate plays, and wins, a lot. Interestingly, Van Buren did not spend his entire life in the door industry, as is often the case among those running well-established, successful door companies. His entry into the door industry came through an unusual portal.
