Genie® and Wayne Dalton®
Sponsor American Cancer Society Employee Race and Walk
The Genie® Company, in conjunction with its sister division
Wayne Dalton®, recently sponsored an employee 5k race and
one mile walk at its corporate facilities to raise funds for the
on-going battle against cancer.
The event beneftted the Relay for Life charity with the
added bonus of helping to promote the employee wellness
programs of both companies. Festivities took place during
the workday in order to promote team spirit and camaraderie and featured free T-shirts and special prizes for participants.
Mike Kridel, President of Genie, said, "The fght against
cancer is something that almost everyone can personally
relate to in one way or another. I'm very impressed with all
of our participants and organizers for their efforts to raise
money for such a worthy cause. Genie and Wayne-Dalton
share the campus here in Mt. Hope and we have quite a few
employees who take advantage of our on-site ftness facilities. Combining an event that promotes general health, such
as running and walking, with the great cause of Relay for Life
is a natural ft."
Anne Wallick of Strasburg took frst place in the female division of the 5k run while Greg Allen of Mansfeld won the
male division.
