The IDAExpo Committee, working with its educational partner IDEA, wants everyone in the door industry to know one thing: You can't afford to miss the 2018 event. "We have set a course to make this the biggest, greatest and most audacious Expo in IDA history," said Paul McManus, who co-chairs the IDAExpo Committee, along with Randy Schmitt. "We have a lot of things in the hopper that promise to make this something special, and that has been our goal from the beginning, he added." Co-chair Schmitt echoed McManus's remarks. "Everything in 2018 is being planned as something our industry participants will recognize as special. When the specifics begin to come out, I think everyone – dealers, manufacturers, and suppliers – will see that we mean business and we aren't taking a conservative approach to our planning." With regard to education, the IDEA board of directors has begun planning two days of seminars, with an eye on interactivity, new presenters and presentations, and timeliness. IDEA President Joseph Chisholm has promised attendees that any dealer attending the educational programming at the 2018 event will generate sufficient new ideas and information to cover any and all costs associated with traveling to Las Vegas and being away from the business for a week.
