How to Keep Up With What Is Coming In 2018! You don't have to wait for the next issue of International Door & Operator Industry magazine to know what's in store for you in Las Vegas, April 25 – 28, 2018. IDA will be posting information as events are finalized in a variety of media, including: • • Facebook • Emails • LinkedIn If you are not already a follower of the International Door Association on Facebook and LinkedIn, please visit those sites and follow our pages. This will ensure that you are aware of all the excitement coming your way in 2018. We also encourage everyone to share our announcements with your own friends and followers on social media. What We Already Know Much is already known, and here's what can be anticipated for the 2018 IDAExpo: • There will be a Silent Auction for Education that takes place prior to the opening of the doors to the President's Awards Banquet. This event was a hit in its debut in Atlanta, and promises to be larger and grander in Las Vegas. Plan to arrive early, browse and bid on objects, events and experiences. We'll be announcing the donated items as they come in, so keep an eye out for that special item you've always wanted. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go to the IDA Educational Scholarship Foundation. • Two full days of education will take place April 25-26, featuring IDEA-produced seminars covering timely topics of opportunity, challenges and solutions to the issues most important to door dealers. The line-up will be announced as the presentations are booked, so keep up with us in the aforementioned media. • In addition to the management seminars, IDEA will fea- ture two-day schools covering Residential and Sectional Door Systems and Commercial Rolling/Rolling Steel Fire Doors for technicians seeking certification in either or both of these disciplines. Contact IDEA for more information, or visit • Young people will have a schedule to call their own, through the Young Professionals Network (YPN). There will be specific seminars for the YPN audience, a local tour, and a social outing for those aged 35 and under who want to meet others in the same general group. • Networking with fellow dealers and industry person- nel - although often overlooked as a reason to attend the event, veteran attendees will state that this is the single most valuable thing they experience at IDAExpo. Meeting people from all parts of the U.S. and beyond who face the same challenges and obstacles, and who have discovered solutions and creative approaches to many of these issues, cannot be assigned a monetary value. These relationships exist in large numbers, all over the world, as a direct result of people who met at the IDAExpo. • Many of the IDAExpo favorites will also be held as part of the event. If you love to ride motorcycles or go golfing in the desert, you'll have the opportunity. • And of course, there will be two days of exhibits during the annual industry showcase of products. If it's new, it will be on the exhibit hall floor for you to see. And, expect to find a lot of new products. Check out the "What's New at Expo " videos from 2017, at, just to get an idea of what can be found if you stop and visit with the exhibitors who are there to meet you. It's an opportunity to conduct comprehensive industry product research in two days! If you make the effort, you absolute- ly will find new products to diversity your business menu. Save the Date Block the week of April 25-28, 2018 , because you will want to be in Las Vegas at the IDAExpo. It will be the best investment you make in your business in the coming year, and as an added bonus, you'll have a great time while you are there. 45
