INDUSTRYNEWS Annual Open House at Safeway Door Locations Safe-Way Door, an American garage door company, enjoyed their Spring Annual Open House in Murfreesboro, TN; Nixa, MO and Warsaw, IN with about 145 of their closest friends. "We always have a lot of fun at these events." said Sonny Nemitz, general manager of Safe-Way Door. "We met a few new friends and shook hands with a lot of old ones too. Safe-Way Door has always taken pride in its personal approach to its dealers. Which is why when our office personal get to meet with dealers in person that they work with remotely on a daily basis it is great time." Activities included DC and plant tours, catered BBQ lunches, door prizes, interaction with other dealers and some of our awesome vendors made it a full day for everyone. Overhead Door™ Brand Helps Renovate a Historic Family Home on This Old House PBS' Emmy award-winning This Old House documented an eight-month renovation of a 139-year-old home with help from the Overhead Door™ Brand. Owners Liz and Joe Delfino inherited the 3,100-square foot residence from family, making it imperative to the couple that the home maintained its treasured character, while becoming more livable. Since the old home lacked adequate heating efficiency, Overhead Door Company of Boston™ installed Courtyard Collection® Model 166, which offers superior insulation to make the home cozier than it had ever been during Liz's childhood. In addition to its insulation benefits, the Courtyard® garage door radiates curb appeal with its elegant wood design of a traditional carriage house door. This Old House host Kevin O'Connor, general contractor Tom Silva, master carpenter Norm Abram, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and landscape contractor Roger Cook were joined by apprentices this season to renovate the Massachusetts home and other projects, shining a spotlight on the value of jobs in the building industry. Christie Overhead Door Loss of Installer Christie Overhead Door mourns the passing of one of our top installers. Joe Napodano 48, discovered he had colon cancer that had spread to his liver only six months ago. He greeted every day with a smile and simply loved what he did. Any challenge, any project, anything you gave him, Joe would answer you with "you're not scarin' me." "Gorgeous Joe, self-proclaimed and blatantly obvious" is how he would introduce himself and won the hearts of literally everyone he came in contact with. Joe had nick- names for everyone. Mine was "Sensei". Joe is survived by his wife Erin, son Damian and daughter Darian. You are in our hearts forever my friend. Until we meet again. 100 International Door & Operator Industry™
