INDUSTRYNEWS The weather cooperated for the 27th Annual BC CDI Springwinders Golf Tournament at Pagoda Ridge Golf Club in Aldergrove, British Columbia. As always, a diverse group of dealers and manufacturers came out this year, playing together in support of our industry community. For the 4th year in a row, Colleen Mooney & Meranda Riley of the BC CDI (and Canadian Doormaster) dressed the teams in costume and took the team photo as they came through the 18th hole. After the game, the players and volunteers enjoyed a buffet dinner and drinks, followed by prizes! 27th Annual BC CDI Golf Tournament Most notable costume selection goes to Assa Abloy Feat. Reliable Door & Gate: Left to Right: Colleen Mooney (Doormaster), Dale Moore (Assa Abloy), Shawn Rowan (Reliable Door & Gate), Greg Lund (Assa Abloy), Chris Loeppky (Assa Abloy), Scott Jessiman (Assa Abloy), Meranda Riley (Doormaster), Kyle Hart (Doormaster) The 2018 Tournament winners are: Mike Morrow (Clopay), Trevor Johnson (High Standards Overhead Door), Trent Kellogg (Doorcare), and Dave Arts (Doorcare) Dealers Honored for Excellence at 30th Annual Clopay ® Leadership Conference Clopay celebrated its 30th annual Leadership Conference with top Master and Authorized dealers May 22 – 25, 2018 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C The annual incentive trip is a unique opportunity for dealers and Clopay staff to connect, learn, and congratulate each other on their business achievements during the past year. The theme for the conference was "The Winning Formula," which is appropriate considering this year's event had the highest attendance to date, with nearly 400 people attending. Former NBA player, business coach, and author Walter Bond was the keynote speaker. His book, "All Buts Stink," kicked off a lively conversation about eliminating excuses that get in the way of achieving one's goals – the "buts." Attendees learned ways to incorporate Bond's success principles into different parts of their business including planning, branding and team building during small group seminars. Business was balanced with relaxation. Leisure activities included a tour of the Biltmore Estate, a waterfall hike, a micro-brewery tour, golf, ziplining, and spa treatments. 2018 Clopay Leadership Conference keynote speaker Walter Boyd revs up the crowd with practical tips from his book, "All Buts Stink." 92 International Door & Operator Industry™
