Help direct the future of your industry. For more information visit Be an IDA director! Serve your association and industry. Being an IDA director provides an opportunity for you to help guide the association and impact the very industry from which you derive your livelihood. IDA directors are elected by the membership and are comprised of representatives from large, medium and small companies. Some directors are industry veterans, while others have much less industry tenure. Each year several directors are elected or reelected. A director's term is three years and a person is eligible to be reelected for a second consecutive three-year-term. Dealer members directors serve a speciā€¢c geographical region. Industry members do not represent a region, but rather the overall management. What are the qualications for being an IDA director? Dealer Members - Must be an owner, partner or employee of a Dealer Member company. Industry Members - Must be an owner, partner or employee of an Industry Member company and holding a responsible position. What are the overall duties of an IDA director? Directors are responsible for establishing the direction of the association and monitoring its progress in maintaining that direction. In addition, directors comprise the leadership for IDA Operating Committees. Each director serves on a minimum of three committees. Committee meetings are typically conducted three times a year. Submitting your name: Placing your name on the nominee listing is easy. To do so, provide the following information to the IDA Heritage and Nominating Committee: Photograph - Head and shoulders view, color, high-resolution. Biographical Information including, but not limited to, employment and positions held in the door and operator industry, education, trade association volunteer leadership experience, personal interests, family information, personal recognitions/achievements and a statement as to why you want to serve as an IDA director.
