INDUSTRYNEWS Bill Eichenberger Passes Industry veteran, William A. Eichenberger, passed away at the age of 86 on November 13, 2012. Bill invented a revolutionary cable drum and spring fitting for garage doors, and founded American Power Unit Corporation. He served as CEO of the company and was very active in various industry trade associations. He also founded Pacific Spring of Portland, Oregon in 1961. He was a dedicated civic volunteer and philanthropist, sportsman, pilot, boater, and captain of Krazy Ike. Upon his retirement, Bill resided in Punta Gorda, Florida better known as "Fisherman's Paradise". Donations may be directed to Smile Train, American Cancer Society or Meals on Wheels.
