Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation NEWS&EVENTS; The two-day seminar will consolidate portions of the curricula that are common to both of these disciplines, so that an individual already holding one of the credentials will benefit from instruction applicable to the remaining certification being sought. This is NOT HANDS ON TRAINING, but it would serve as an excellent introduction to a door technician who is being groomed to install rolling door products. Attendees will learn a great deal about the products, regulatory standards, and more. Primarily, the course is designed to instruct students based on the IDEA certification study courses it has produced and recently updated. (Attendees will be able to get a hands-on feel for these products in the exhibit hall, which will open Friday following the Opening Session). The two-day course will cover: DAY 1 – Wednesday May 8 Types of Doors Codes, Standards and Organizations Rolling Door Materials and Finishes Components Types of Jambs Methods of Operation Fire Door Automatic Closing Devices Obtaining and Installing the Correct Rolling Door DAY 2 – Thursday, May 9 Operator Installation IDEA will provide, for the first time, a special examination covering both credentials for those taking both exams at the IDAExpo™. Individuals taking only one of the certification exams will be given the normal test for that credential. The combined, bundled test will be a hybrid exam which eliminates duplicative portions of the stand-alone versions of the exams. The degree of difficulty will be consistent with the stand-alone exams, and candidates taking the hybrid, bundled exam may be awarded two scores in the event one of the exam portions is not successfully passed. You Can Do All This AND See the Exhibition Hall! For a special IDAExpo™ registration rate of only $125 per person for IDA members, and New Bundled Pricing for IDEA Certification, here's what you can accomplish on behalf of your door company… Content Review Questions and Answers Testing will take place beginning approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9. This testing event will be exclusively for students enrolled in the two-day Rolling Steel/ Fire Door training course. IDEA will conduct testing for all other IDAExpo™ attendees registered and eligible for IDEA testing during its normal testing hours on Wednesday and Thursday of IDAExpo™ week. 70 Dan Dombkowski (DASMA), 1st V.P.
