Calyn Davis Sponsor: Marvin's Garage Doors School: Roanoke College Calyn is an honor's student sophomore at Guilford College, where she majors in business administration, minors in math, plays women's basketball and participates in the Christian ministry on campus. Her goals include maintaining good grades and a solid GPA, excelling on the basketball court, completing an internship and participating in a community service project and developing ideas for her senior thesis. According to Calyn, "My academic focus this year is to specifically define probable jobs that match my interests in the classroom. Over the next couple years, I aspire to graduate at the top of my class, be a successful student athlete and come out of college with a strong network for potential job opportunities." Courtney Deters Sponsor: Twin City Garage Door School: North Dakota State University Courtney is a freshman at North Dakota State University, currently majoring in accounting. Her goal is to eventually obtain a master's degree from NDSU, after which she plans to become a Certified Public Accountant. Her chosen major combines the things she loves most: math, numbers and accounting. "I am especially appreciative for the opportunity that IDA has given me to continue my education and focus on schoolwork. Hayden Hill Sponsor: Hill Enterprises School: Samford University Hayden is a sophomore at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, majoring in nursing. Her plan is to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). "This scholarship allows me to be fully-funded for the entire semester. Audrey Hixenbaugh Sponsor: Cunningham Overhead Door and Window School: Bellarmine University Audrey is a junior at Bellarmine University, majoring in respiratory therapy. She aspires to one day help NICU babies born with underdeveloped lungs, heart and lung diseases thrive. Along with a rigorous class schedule, she is part of the Bellarmine swim team and typically competes in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and occasionally the 1000 freestyle, as well as relays. Outside of her time in the classroom and in the water, she is a swim coach at SafeSplash, where she teaches young children the beginning techniques of swimming. She is also a Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader at Bellarmine, in charge of coordinating meetings and events weekly to spread the love of the Lord to other students on campus. "My love for children has always been a major part of my life, and as I learned to be a swim coach and childcare worker, it has guided my career decision.
