INDUSTRYNEWS Miranda Miller Sponsor: Lowry Overhead Doors School: Utah State University Miranda majors in nursing at Utah State University. She finds great satisfaction in studying medicine, learning how it can help people and discovering how to best use her skills and talents to benefit others. According to Miranda, her heart is always full in knowing she has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. "I find great satisfaction in knowing that my compassion and care allows them a chance to heal and to be cared for--if even for a brief encounter. I am committed to making a difference every chance I get. The future is wide open with opportunities and I'm so grateful for the chance to be a part of it." Jaydin Moses Sponsor: Besser Bros School: Orange Coast College Jaydin attends Orange Coast College, working toward earning his Associate in Arts degree. His plan is to transfer to either the University of California-Irvine or Cal State Fullerton to earn a Master's degree in Education, which will help further his career goal of becoming a high school teacher. In addition to his studies, Jaydin also coaches football at Corona del Mar High School. "I believe that everyone on this earth is both a student and a teacher and that there is no job more practical than preparing the youth for what's to come. I hope to be an inspiring mentor and show my students that there is no limit to what they can achieve once they put their mind to it. Special thanks to the IDA for this incredible honor and to my friends and family for supporting me every step of the way!" Justin Ormiston Sponsor: Alpine Overhead Doors School: Fairfield University Ever since he was young, Justin has been fascinated by how things work and are made. As an engineering student at Fairfield University, this curiosity is the inspiration for his future and his goal is to become a mechanical engineer. "With the costs of a college education rising each year, it has become more expensive than ever to earn a degree. I am incredibly appreciative of this scholarship and grateful that it will help move me one step closer to accomplishing my career goals. I hope to create and develop things that can help people and make an impact on the world." Shaun Ormiston Sponsor: Alpine Overhead Doors School: Fairfield University Shaun is a freshman at Fairfield University, studying mechanical engineering. His goal is to someday discover an economical and efficient renewable energy source, which will help to reduce the negative footprint humans leave on the planet each and every day. "This world has limited resources that will slowly be impacted in a negative way if we don't start making changes to our habits and the way we treat the Earth. I am very grateful for being awarded this scholarship and the money will help pay for my education and drive my passion for making the Earth a cleaner and ultimately better place." continued on page 36 35 (continued from page 32) V O L U M E 5 2 I S S U E 1 F E B R U A R Y 2 0 1 9 "...I am committed to making a difference every chance I get.
