The International Door Education Association (IDEA) Board of Directors and many other volunteers have worked hard over the years to develop and maintain a library of training resources primarily aimed at various certification and accreditation disciplines. These programs have proven to be a valuable resource and sales tool for all those who have been certified or accredited. How does one attain credit for CEU's in the Garage Door Industry? Or better yet, receive training for non-certified or accredited requirements? In this business, it's not always easy to access new and suitable training materials for new hires or for continuing education requirements. Materials that teach basics are few and far between. Wouldn't it be great to find these types of training materials in one place? Well the wait is over! A newly-created website (IDAEducation.com) has launched and is available to all IDA members looking to earn valuable continuing education credits and participate in high-value training opportunities. • To date, the following courses are available: • Alternate Access Solutions • Commercial Section Door Systems • Fight back against Bad Bob • IDA Assurance • Introductory Rolling Steel Door Installation Training • Prequel to the IDEA Train the Trainer Course • Prevention of Rotator Cuff Injuries in the Garage Door Industry • Marketplace Thermal Performance Value • Rolling Steel Fire Doors • Torsion Spring and Drum Tech Workshop • Residential Service The IDA Board of Directors want to see the bar of excellence continually raised within our industry. The Technology and Education Committee recognizes the need to keep a fresh supply of educational opportunities available and are committed to adding another six courses in the next few months. The intent is to provide an additional resource for CEU credits for introductory, intermediate and advanced training. These actions further build upon the Technology and Education Committees mission: The IDA Technology and Education Committee is dedicated to creating an ever-expanding resource for advanced training and technical awareness that may be shared across numerous industry and affiliated organizations as a unified voice. IDEA will always be in charge of education and training for certification. However, what the Technology and Education Committee is achieving is a resource that will be developed and used by our association to supplement certification and training. 42 International Door & Operator Industry™ TECHNICAL IDAEducation: The New CEU Resource IDAEducation: The New CEU Resource
