The IDEA board is consistently on the move and working diligently to provide the door and access systems industry with the most up-to-date educational programs, covering a wide variety of topics. Each year, IDEA educational sessions are attended by hundreds of door dealers, technicians and installers. These men and women believe - as does the IDEA leadership - that the more education one has: 1. The safer one will be while performing their job. This results in less injuries and much lower insurance expense. 2. Educated personnel raise the overall quality of a door business resulting in a competitive edge and much more significant profitability. 3. Well-educated owners, managers and field personnel are much more confident and greater achievers. The Institute offers a variety of certifications to cover as much of our industry as currently possible. The IDEA board has been asked by several door organizations to develop new programs and we expect to have those available in the very near future. It's important to keep in mind that the IDEA Board is comprised of all volunteers who gladly devote their experience, expertise and time to generate new programs. It takes numerous hours of work to complete the study guides and develop the exams. As an essential part of IDEA programs, continuing education is required for all certified technicians, door dealer consultants, gate designers and accredited dealers. It is relatively simple to satisfy CEU requirements. One important venue for a person to strongly consider would be to attend the 2019 IDAExpo ® and participate in the workshops and seminars produced by the IDEA. In previous years, the two days of educational sessions have been well attended by many within the industry. The areas of focus are determined by suggestions from the industry. We hope to see you in Indianapolis and encourage you to join with the thousands of others who will be there. Without any reservation, it is a fact that IDEA educational programs produce huge values for those who participate!
