INDUSTRYNEWS A-tech is Saddened to Announce the Passing of ���J.D.��� Riddle James Davis ���J.D.��� Riddle, 64, of Russellville, AR, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at his home. J.D. had been employed by Windsor Overhead Door as an outdoor salesman for more than twenty-two years. He was Top Gun salesman eight times and was awarded the President���s Ring twice. He was currently employed by A-tech Suburban, Inc. as Regional Sales Manager. He was top performing salesman in 2006 and Salesman of the Month thirteen times in the last three years. J.D. attended Pottsville Assembly of God Church. He was an avid movie buff, Razorback and NASCAR fan, and connoisseur of ���ne food. Survivors include his sister Sue Ellen Riddle of Gatlinburg, TN; three sons, Kevin Hays & wife Liz of Jacksonville, FL, Trevor Hays of Zebulon, GA, and Scott Hays of Dover; two grandsons, Avery Hays of Jacksonville, FL and Conner Hays of Zebulon, GA; several cousins in Biloxi, MS, close friends Roger & Debby Cooper of Russellville, and numerous friends and acquaintances. Martin Door Manufacturing Martin Door Manufacturing recently unveiled a new company logo as well as a new product line. The initial unveiling was completed during the company���s yearly Dealer Summit on February 1, 2013. The company nicknamed the introduction the ���avalanche��� to indicate the huge amount of information being distributed at one time. In keeping with the theme, the company invited their customers to the Dealer Summit saying ���don���t get buried ��� get prepared!��� Martin Door���s goal is to become the number one garage door manufacturer, with a special emphasis on quality products and excellent service. The introduction of the new logo and new product line are the ���rst efforts toward achieving this goal. One of the new products introduced was the Chalet, a composite wood-look garage door. This is a ���rst for the local manufacturer. The Chalet was developed and introduced based solely on customer demand. During the February Dealer Summit, the Chalet was met with enthusiasm and excitement. Dealers left the meeting and immediately began identifying customers who could truly bene���t from this brand new product. For more information please visit www.martindoor.com. J.D. loved working in the door industry. It was a mutual relationship ��� he loved and respected his customers and all those he knew and they certainly returned the favor. J.D. ��� May you rest in peace. Bob Haugh Passes���Former Overhead Door Corp President On February 23, Bob Haugh lost his battle with colon cancer; he was 92. In 1967, Mr. Haugh accepted a position as Vice President of Operations with the Overhead Door Corporation in Dallas. He eventually rose to President, CEO and Director. During his tenure with Overhead Door, the corporation grew from a private company $39 million in sales to a New York Exchange ���rm with sales exceeding $400 million. Mr. Haugh was a veteran of World War II when he served in the U. S. Navy in the Paci���c Theatre. He also ran 26 marathons as he was an avid health enthusiast. In 1998, he received Indiana University���s highest honor, the Distinguished Alumni Award. Bob Haugh was a good friend of the industry, and numerous Overhead Door Distributors. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Baylor Health Care System Foundation or the charity of one���s choice. In his obituary from the Dallas Morning News, it closes, ���I have fought the good ���ght, I have ���nished the race, I have kept the faith.��� (2 Timothy 4:7) 112 International Door & Operator Industry��� A-tech is Announcing the Retirement of Thomas C. Armstrong Tom has been in the ���door business��� since 1965. He started his career as a northeast sales representative with Linear Corporation. In 1982, Tom started working for himself as A-tech Products, which he ran out of his home in Connecticut. For the last 23 years Tom, and his partner Ken Heid, have enjoyed running A-tech Suburban. ���A-tech has been fortunate to have a loyal customer base. There are some wonderful people in this business and many of them actually taught me about sales back in the 60���s,��� stated Tom. ���This has been a good industry to be involved in.��� We honor the knowledge and experience Tom has shared with those of us at A-tech. We will miss his leadership and presence. Tom and his wife, Cookie, are in good health and are looking forward to traveling more. Don���t be surprised if you bump into Tom as he travels, as I am sure it will be dif���cult for him to pass by a dealer without stopping.
