Nashville is the capital of the state of Tennessee, located on the Cumberland River in the north-central part of the state. Music, shows, shops, sports and amazing food can all be found in Nashville. It is a colorful, well-known city in several different arenas and, as such, has earned various nicknames including: ��� Music City, USA: WSM-AM announcer David Cobb ���rst used this name during a 1950 broadcast and it stuck. It is now the of���cial nickname used by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau. Nashville is the home of the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and many major record labels. ��� Athens of the South: Home to twenty-four post-secondary educational institutions, Nashville has long been compared to the ancient city of learning, site of Plato���s Academy. Since 1897, a full-scale replica of the Athenian Parthenon has stood in Nashville, and many examples of classical and neoclassical architecture can be found in the city. ��� The Protestant Vatican or The Buckle of the Bible Belt: Nashville has over 700 churches, several seminaries, a number of Christian music companies, and is the headquarters for multiple publishing arms of religious organizations. ��� Cashville: Nashville native Young Buck released a successful rap album called Straight Outta Cashville that has popularized the nickname among a new generation. ��� Nash Vegas or Nashvegas! (How cool is that nickname!) Back by popular demand ��� IDA will award electronic goodies to four lucky dealers in attendance. Two iPad Minis and two Kindle Fire HD 8.9 will be given away, just for being on the Expo ���oor on Saturday! Here are the rules: ��� Sign up during exhibit hours on Friday or by Noon on Saturday. Limit one entry per person. ��� Must be registered as a dealer or dealer personnel, and must have an of���cial Expo dealer badge. ��� Must be present to win, and must claim prize within 15 minutes of name being drawn. ��� Must agree to be photographed for publication in the International Door & Operator Industry magazine. While you���re in the IDA booth, meet the association���s directors and ���nd out ���what���s new��� at IDA. Association directors and staff at the booth will also help you with signing up to become the newest member to IDA. Have questions about IDEA? Directors and staff from IDEA will answer all your questions and get you registered for a wide array of certi���cation and training programs that will improve your personnel and your business.
