President's Commentary $15.00 U.S. TM ISSUE 4 • 2011 Michael Beltrami Proud to be your new IDA President Meet him on page 9 Words of Gratitude By Michael Beltrami President, International Door Association I can hardly believe that my two-year term as IDA president has ended. There have been many rewarding moments and a few challenging ones these past two years. There are many things that I will miss, but I have to admit that I will not miss writing this commentary for the magazine. It was one of the more challenging aspects of my presidency, especially for a guy who is not known as being particularly verbose! But, I have completely enjoyed the experience and feel that I have grown both professionally and personally. I have had the opportunity to work with many dedicated individuals on the Board as well as other associations and industry groups. I believe that the IDA is moving in the right direction and is focused on bringing high quality services and value to its members. I ask that you please welcome Bill Gibson as the new IDA president. Bill has a tremendous amount of experience; having served as the Dealer Vice President, chair of the IDAExpo Committee, and the chair of the Technology and Education Committee during his time on the Board. Bill will do an excellent job of representing our members and leading the association for the next two years. I am looking forward to working with Bill and will provide any assistance he requires. I would like to acknowledge and thank the following board members for their service to the association: John Dunn – three years, Dan Beckley – three years, and Begins on page 51 www.doors.org Kevin Wetzel –six years. I enjoyed working with these gentlemen and greatly appreciate their commitment and dedication to the association and our industry. I also want to welcome the following new directors to the Board: Chris Cunningham – Region 3 Director, Kevin Pettiette – Region 8 Director, Jeff Smoker – Region 2 Director and Joel Yackee – Industry Director. These new directors join the returning directors and will form a very strong and experienced Board to serve the association. 2011 Expo Photo Coverage I want to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to Bob Hammersley for his 11 years of service to the IDA. Bob's dedication and commitment has resulted in improvements across the association resulting in better service to our members. I personally want to thank Bob for both his friendship and the guidance given to me while I have been on the Board, especially the past two years during my presidency. I know that Bob will remain an active member and continue to be a valuable resource for the IDA, continuing to support the association.
