Tucked off of a narrow two-lane road that intersects Highway 165 just
three and a half miles south of town, sits the headquarters of Carl's
Door Service, a door company that one might mistake for a private
residence were it not for the prominently posted signs advertising it's
true identity.
The house-like appearance of the company command center is
appropriate. Carl's Door Service was founded in one, back in 1965,
when the current owners, Christine Miller and Michael Whitacre, were
youngsters. Carl was their father, and he ran his business from the
family kitchen for many years until his son and daughter convinced
him to incorporate the business, and give it a home of its own.
