IndustryNews Wayne Dalton Helps St. Jude's IDA REPRESENTED IN SHANGHAI On March 26, during the 2013 R+T Asia Exposition conducted in Shanghai, China, Chris Long, IDA Managing Director, participated as a principal speaker of an International Window & Door Summit. He spoke on the how the IDA is globally enhancing the door and access systems industry. Others who participated in the Summit included: Lu Zhe, Secretary-General, China Construction Metal Structure Association, and Pan Guanjun, President, Steel and Wood Doors & Windows branch of China Construction Metal Structure Association. The individual presentations were followed with a panel discussion facilitated by Tom Wadsworth, DASMA. The panel included: Olaf Vogele, Technical Expert/Author, Media4technologies®, Pan Guanjun, SWDW, Dirk Fell, Managing Director Hormann China, and Liu Wang Youn Jie, Electrical Door & Window Industry Association. R+T Asia was conducted in the new Shanghai Exposition Center, and attracted 15,720 people from 72 countries. Industry Pioneer Passes James B. (Neal) Anderson, Jr., president emeritus of Anderson Door Company, passed away on April 12, 2013. He was a second generation of the Anderson family to lead the business which was started as a building company in 1907. Following college and service in the United States Navy during WWII, Neal team up with his father, and together they steered the business as it grew to a 20,000 square foot facility. Anderson Door Company was offcially designated in 1960. By 1985, the company occupied multiple manufacturing facilities and distributed products to nine states. Throughout all the changes at the company, Neal was the person who oversaw all aspects of operation. His technical knowledge, keen business sense, and personal style set the standard for success at Anderson Door. 90 International Door & Operator Industry™ The Wayne Dalton Genie Sales Center of Peoria, Illinois joined longtime partner Dean Customer Builders and donated two Model 9600 steel garage doors for a St. Jude's Dream ® Home Giveaway.
