Just to place this achievement in perspective, 57 years ago, in 1956, the Dow Jones closed for the frst time above 500, Jack Burke, Jr. won the 20th Masters, Elvis Presley recorded Heartbreak Hotel, and Nikita Khrushchev was named the frst Secretary of the Soviet Union Communist Party. And, a 16 year old boy, Kenny Knippel, became a doorman. Ken was extremely knowledgeable when it came to building and installing wood doors. But, he learned the business side through the school of hard knocks. He shared how his friends would provide advice, and that his wife, Kathy provided accounting and offce support. One of his friends told him to always remember that proft isn't a dirty word. His friend added, "Buy low and sell high." "Times have certainly changed since those early days," stated Ken. "I remember the day that I got my frst calculator and how much it changed my life," he stated. "Prior to that, I had to do all my calculations with pencil and paper," he added.
