of his DVD's and all of our new hires watch these videos to help them understand what "Positively Outrageous Service" is all about. His 45 minute presentation has had a profound impact on me and our organization so had I not attended this IDAExpo and heard him speak we would not be the company we are today. This is one reason I believe every door and access systems dealer should plan on attending the IDAExpo in Las Vegas on April 27 – 30, 2016. You never know what you might learn that will help take you and your business to the next level. In addition to the great keynote speakers from whom I've learned valuable lessons, I have taken away many great ideas and have been motivated by the great workshops IDEA and DASMA present. Two full days of workshops are presented each year covering sales, marketing, technology, personnel management, fnancial management, legal issues, technical topics, etc. So many different workshops are presented I recommend you bring several people with you so you can attend as many workshops as possible and then share with each other what you learned. If you believe because of your experience there really isn't anything new you can learn then just remember these words of Henry Ford – "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young." Also, and very important, in addition to the amazing exhibits and terrifc educational opportunities another thing I love about going to every IDAExpo are the people I meet and the relationships that are made while I'm sitting in a workshop, standing in the hall waiting for a workshop, enjoying a fne meal at the banquet, or checking out the PRESIDENT'S COMMENTARY (continued from page 8) exhibitor foor. The conversations I have with other dealers and suppliers are extremely helpful. Some of the best ideas I've brought home from an IDAExpo have come from these casual conversations. I look forward every year to seeing the friends I've met at the event and fnding out how they've been doing and what they've implemented to improve their businesses. The relationships I've made during the years and information I've gleaned from these relationships is invaluable. The annual IDAExpo is also a great time to take the IDEA Accreditation and IDEA Installer Certifcation exams. I took and passed all 6 of the IDEA Accreditation exams when they were frst offered at the 1997 IDAExpo in Nashville and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only did i learn a lot by studying for the exams, but it has also helped set our company apart from our competition for more thanr 18 years. If you've considered becoming an IDEA Accredited company or thought about working on having your technicians become IDEA certifed then now is the time to start studying so you'll be ready when you attend the 2016 IDAExpo in Las Vegas. I could go on and on about the reasons everyone should attend our industry's annual premier event like the fabulous awards banquet and fun and exciting parties and entertainment, but words fall short and can't compare to the actual experience. Therefore, please make plans to attend, enjoy and beneft from the 2016 IDA Expo in Las Vegas on April 27-30. I encourage you to personally experience and enjoy all the event has to offer. Besides investing each year in IDA membership, I believe attending the IDAExpo is the best investment you can make for your business. I look forward to seeing you in Vegas! P.S. Please don't tell yourself you'll "try" to make it to the IDAExpo™ because in the immortal words of Yoda from Star Wars – "Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
