Air leakage accounts for 35-40% of the energy costs in a building. Reducing energy costs for heating or cooling is a constant challenge for building owners. Temperature Retention Systems, based in Port Angeles, Washington has developed a roll-up door weatherization system designed to reduce energy costs by implementing what is newly referred to as "door curtains". The technology of the roll-up door curtain virtually eliminates heat loss, heat entry and/or air-fl ow through roll- up doors. End users can also receive energy tax incentives to minimize the installation costs while increasing energy effi ciency for a cleaner environment.
Door curtains can be used for existing openings or for new construction and work with all types of building construction and wall surfaces. Installing the curtain inside a roll up door can be done in just a few hours. The system comes with a header assembly and insulated panels and completely seals off air leakage from the roll-up door. The door curtain itself incorporates special "patent pending" layers of materials within an exterior heavy-duty vinyl shell (available in various colors) that retains heat inside a building, as well as refl ects heat to not enter a building through a roll-up door and metal frame.
