When a homeowner experiences a breakdown in their garage door or motor operator, they almost always prefer to have repairs thinking it must be cheaper than replacing with new product. Although many times this may be true, it may not be the best and safest choice. If you consistently repair existing components you seldom receive updated more reliable, safer components. Sometimes the decision is set for you such as when a door is run into and damaged beyond repair. I have done wonders by adding a strut to the inside of the panel, but really you should replace the damaged panels.
