During my tenure on the Board as a director, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, President, and now Past-President, I've met and worked with a number of tremendous industry volunteers. These men and women have definitely never been afraid to roll up their sleeves and spend long hours developing quality education and credentialing programming. I've watched them labor for hours making sure that a specific program was flawless and would meet the stringent credentialing standards set forth by the Institute. To these men and women, not only the integrity of IDEA Accreditation and Certification is vital, but also the overall integrity and professionalism of the industry we proudly claim as ours. As a result of this group effort, today our industry boasts more than 3,900 accredited dealers and certified technicians. But, more importantly, it continues to expand throughout the United States, and now Mexico. Recently the IDEA was highlighted in a presentation before a special industry Congress conducted in Stuttgart, Germany By Joseph Chisholm, IDEA President during the 2018 R+T trade show. There, the spotlight was on how IDEA accreditation and certification was leading a powerful movement to enhance professionalism and safety with the door and access systems industry. The ride I've enjoyed has also included some enjoyable times with my peers. For example enjoying a home cooked dinner at a fellow director's house…thank you Casey Pacetti, and Dan Dombkowski. Outside of the quality programs we've produced, I believe one of our greatest achievements has been the deep friendships we've developed during the years. My fellow directors have coordinated, produced, and presented education programs as part of the annual IDAExpo for many, many years. Today, these sessions are the primary reason many dealers travel to the event and take away from their businesses. They know that by doing so their businesses will receive huge value and a significant return on their investment. So as I conclude my final commentary, I'd like to thank everyone who has supported the IDEA. If you are an Accredited Dealer or a Certified Technician, thank you and congratulations. If you're not, I encourage you to establish that as a 2018 business and/or personal goal. What a GREAT RIDE!
