INDUSTRYNEWS Encon's 12th Annual Golf Tournament September 29th Encon Electronics, hosted its 12th annual golf tournament at Shadow Lakes Golf Club in Brentwood, California. Over 120 people braved the 95 degree heat and challenging links course to participate in a traditional best-ball scramble based on a very untraditional movie theme. A total of 18 manufacturers sponsored the event including: Aerotech, All- O-Matic, American Access Systems, Ameriline, Apollo, BD Loops, Click2Enter, DAC Industries, DoorKing, EDI, FAAC, HySecurity, LiftMaster, Linear Corporation, Miller Edge, Reno A&E;, Sirit and Viking Access Systems. Encon's general manager Jeff Harris said, "Encon hosts this annual event to thank our dealers and manufacturers for their support throughout the year. Without their participation and the incredibly generous donations from our vendors, we could not host such a unique and exciting event." Following golf play, attendees enjoyed a gourmet lunch sponsored by Reno A&E;, DoorKing and Miller Edge. LiftMaster generously sponsored all the beverages for the day including complimentary drinks and snacks on the golf course. Immediately after lunch, the awards and raffl e ceremony began. Team CCOI earned fi rst place honors with a minus 13 for the day while A&D; Automatic Gate came in a close second with a score of 59. The two teams swapped fi rst and second place positions last year so it appears this could be a tournament rivalry for years to come. Michel Gendreau of Garaga Inc.
