It has been an up and down year for many companies. Some have managed to not just survive, but to grow in the last several years while others have struggled to hold on through the slow economy. As we start planning for the he he new year, we urge our members to look at the IDA services and d benefits that can help build and improve their companies, and d for non-members to jo t e IDA for t es benefits. o o e be s o join the o these By Michael Beltrami President, International Doo Association Door oor DealerFIT 2013 The IDA Dealer-Fit program is offered to all members on a yearly basis. It is a valuable resource that can help us evaluate our financial performance compared to our peers. If the IDA Dealer-Fit program is completed during several years, we will be able to analyze our performance over this longer period of time and determine if we are moving in the proper direction. The information provided by the IDA Dealer-Fit program can be used to make necessary changes to our business by focusing on our strengths and improving on our weaknesses. g p g ™ IDAssurance offers general liability, workers' compensation and auto insurance to IDA members who demonstrate superior safety and loss control practices. IDAssurance offers competitive rates and may help our members lower their insurance cost. I also urge nonmembers to contact Andrew for a quote and if the program works for them they are welcome to join the association and take advantage of the lower cost. The IDA works to promote the organization and dealer members through multiple outlets: www.garagewownow.com, www.garagedoorcare.com, the IDA website – www.doors.org and a national public relations program. These sites and programs all offer links to find an IDA dealer member company in the user's area. Dealer members can also use the IDA logo to promote their company's commitment to being a professional door dealer which helps differentiate their business in the market place. 8 International Door & & Operator Industry™ International Door Operator Industry™ Additionally, the IDA offers and supports multiple training, education and certification programs for its members. Training and educational programs are offered at the industry's yearly event, the IDAExpo™ which will be in Nashville, Tennessee on May 8-11, 2013. Training and educational programs are also presented during many IDA supported regional educational conferences held by our industry affiliate organizations. Accreditation testing is also offered locally through testing centers. Members utilize the training and education that is offered to improve and strengthen their companies and personnel. Members who are IDEA accredited dealers and/or have IDEA certified technicians can use these training and educational opportunities to improve performance and to promote their companies. IDA membership offers multiple resources and benefits that can be used to strengthen and improve our dealer members companies, giving them a competitive edge in the marketplace. Dealer members should research all IDA programs offered and put their membership to work to improve their companies. I strongly urge all non-dealer members to join the IDA for industry representation and to take advantage of the association's many benefits. I wish everyone a happy and successful 2013.
