If you do all these things, people will appreciate your commitment to their satisfaction and that becomes your reputation." Reputation, Jim notes, is critically important in a resort town. "When you are working around a lot of summer vacation homes you are working in unoccupied dwellings. If you don't have a rock solid reputation, in a town like this, you'll never get that work." Credentials and Association Involvement Coast Garage Doors is an IDEA Accredited Door Dealer. Jim Anderson is an IDEA Sanctioned Trainer and holds credentials as a certifed Residential Installer and Commercial Sectional Door Systems Technician. The company joined IDA soon after the merger between the Door and Operator Dealers Association and Far Western Door Association created the organization. "We've met some great people through IDA, and by meeting industry people at the Expo and here at the Northwest meetings, they have specifc knowledge that has helped us to grow our business," said Linda Anderson. Jim echoed his wife's sentiment: "I still devour the magazine (International Door & Operator Industry) and when I read it, I'm looking for better ways of doing things. That's what associations really are all about; learning from each other and making the industry better by making our businesses better." Jim Anderson, President of Northwest Door and Operator Association, presents a certifcate to Steven Harris, of Harris Door Company in Portland, whose company was one of the original members of the organization. The ceremony took place as part of NWDOA Regional Conference in October, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Association's founding. This statue commemorates the place where the Lewis and Clark Expedition ended. It was here, in Seaside, Oregon, that the volunteer U. S.
