"Lifting The Industry For Over 40 Years" PRODUCTNEWS Cartell Free Exit Systems Introduces the Solar-Friendly GateMate Cartell is pleased to introduce the solar-friendly GateMate (CP-3) self-contained Free Exit System, offering the lowest stand-by current draw in the industry. The primary concern in a solar gate system is to provide enough solar power to accommodate the duty cycle of the system and the options that will be used with the system. With any solar system you must put as much power back into the battery (or more) than you are using on a daily basis. Often, this is of little concern, especially on sunny days. But when the weather is not ideal, or the area of country is not conducive, the amount of watts of power needed becomes critical. Of course, the frst concern is the number of cycles per day the gate is going to be expected to operate. But there is another, often larger, concern. The most serious concern for solar powered gates is not the gate itself but its accessories. Most of the time, options such as probe detectors, loop detectors, keypads, photo beams, and the like, will draw current constantly – 24/7. When this is taken into account, it is likely that the options will draw more current than the operator itself. To keep the stand-by current draw on the GateMate as low as is sci- entifcally possible. While most probe detectors demand at least 1.5 milliamps in stand-by, the GateMate requires a mere 150 microamps. That's 85-90% lower than its nearest competitor. BD Loops Pizza Wheel & Wedge Tool Revamped Easily roll Saw-Cut Loops to the bottom of the groove while standing by using the BD Loops Pizza Wheel & Wedge Tool. Many loop installers use screwdrivers, paint mixers, sticks, or other tools to stuff saw-cut loops into saw-cut grooves. Those tools are not only ineffcient, but some can knick the loop wire and cause the loop to short to ground. The BD Loops Pizza Wheel and Wedge Tool is made of smooth and durable PVC that will not knick the loop wire. The wedge tool allows installers to easily push wire down into 135° dog eared corner cuts. The roller is 1/8" thick and works best with BD Loops Preformed Saw-Cut Loops. The latest version of Pizza Wheel and Wedge Tools sports many minor improvements including a 50% thicker axel for improved sturdiness. The reducer coupler is now made with schedule 80 PVC. The best improve- ment is the inclusion of our new Clean Out Hook – a handy tool that easily removes stubborn sharp rocks and debris from the saw-cut groove. It can also be used to pop out "V-Cut" yokes for easier installation. For more information please visit www.BDLoops.com. 1/24/14 10:57 AM
